I received a call on my cell phone asking for my fiancée. I informed them that he was working. They then told me that he needed to call ************ before 6 p.m. because they need to serve him papers. Since I couldn’t reach my fiancée, I was very concerned, I called the #. The man said he was from Montgomery & Associates and my fiancée owed $5,800.00 to capital one. Was I able to paid that amount right now. I told him I don’t have that kind of money. He said well can he be to court next week? And if he goes to court it will cost him $8,000.00 instead of &5,800.00. I told him I was confused because my fiancée has great credit with capital one. He told me that the debt was from 2012 and it was initiated in 2022. He was very mean & threatening to me on the phone.

He asked me if I could pay $1,500.00 to stop further actions & to pay the rest of it at $250.00 a mth until paid off. He said if I didn’t pay they would show up at my fiancées employment Monday morning. I was scared to death. I put the $1,500.00 on my capital one card. I finally reached my fiancée by phone & he said no you don’t give out things like that, you have been scammed. I called capital one immediately. Told them what happened. They put a hold on my credit card and are waiting for the the charge to post. They will investigate. The gentleman emailed me a document to sign so that I allowed them to take the funds. However what I signed said differently. When I called capital one they told me to email the individual and tell him to cancel the charge of $1,500.00 immediately & delete the document they scammed me in to signing, You claimed you were collecting for Capital One & you are a scam, claiming to be Montgomery and associates. When I replied to the email that sent me the document to sign, they emailed back saying they were from sign.com, that I needed to email the individual I was corresponding with. However their was no email for me to respond to from the man I spoke with.

I called the # ***********9 and spoke with the man & asked for his email. He said which one we have two. He put me on hold came back and said why do you need the email. I informed him verbally what Capital one told me to tell them. He started yelling at me telling me I was fraudulent & he was going to sue me. And my fiancée would now owe $8,000.
