I was selling a car online on offer up and got a notification from someone that was interested. Communicated via text and it started to get weird when person was adamant about running the vin through a website. The website charges $25 per report. I was naive and bought the report. Turns out you can literally enter any email and random letters and numbers and records would be “found.” I called my bank immediately to get a new card and froze my account and changed all of my passwords and logins.

I have car for sale on KSL.

I was contacted by someone (435-250-3520) gave his name as Jeffery Anderson in Logan UT who wanted me to use a VIN checker called "premiumvin.com" which charges 25$ for a vin report... similar to carfax.

I could not find anything... not even in ScamPulse.com about this website.

I checked http://www.vehiclehistory.gja.ojp.gov for alternative sites.

I ended our communication when he continued to insist I use the site he was familiar with despite offering to use one of the sites verified on vehicle history.gov site. The contact is quite insistent that he must be reassured prior to purchase to get auto info from what he considers more reliable than carfax or other recommended VIN history websites

When I search for PREMIUMVIN.com.... I find only their site, no ScamPulse.com info to use or not use.

This is a SCAM attempting to take your money and/or credit card information to pay for a service that does not exist.
