Found and applied for job on Indeed.com. The job title was for shipping logistics. I applied and got a message on Indeed to email them at email provided to me. Once I emailed them my phone number and email they contacted me via email offering me the position of Checking Specialist and to watch a video about the company and learn what this work from home job was about. Then I was contacted by a female named Lane West, who sounded Asian, who offered me the position and emailed me a contract. After that I received many phone calls and emails from my "Supervisor" Lolita Drew, and two Shipping Managers Ruella Davis and Veronica Lester. They called me to welcome me to PP and sounded professional. They said the job was sending packages to me and I would have to check them for damage and then they would send me a shipping label to send them to their final destination. Lolita told me that the first pay day would take 30 days as I would be on probation and then after that pay would be every 2 weeks. Upon completing my 30 days I was shut out from the Dashboard and no one answered my calls or texts anymore.

She filled out a job application on Indeed for a job as a "package/mail screener". She did an interview, was hired, and submitted w4 and direct deposit info was given. She started the job and worked for a month. She received packages to her home (laptop, ipad, computer, jewelry, printer, shoes, etc). Her job was to inspect, upload pic of item, print out shipping label (that was emailed to her from the company), then mail the items off via USPS or Fedex. The company agreed to pay off her credit card balance or any fees she occurred when shipping items back. After a month, they reversed their payments made to her credit card and she never received her employment wages for actually working. She was supposed to receive a salary of $3200 biweekly. The items she purchased off her credit card to ship, she submitted receipts to the company for reimbursement and now she cannot get ahold of anyone.

I received a phone call from someone who claimed to go by the name Lane West (supposedly someone from HR), claiming they found me through an Indeed application, and wanted to interview me for a "Package Checker" position. They offered a minimum of 3000 a month, with most employees taking home up to 4800 a month. I was in a vulnerable financial position, so I heard it out. They proceeded to "interview" me, by asking a few very vague questions, and then offered me the job on the spot, to start immediately. In the rush of things, and feeling hopeful, I used this opportunity to leave my then current job, foolishly. They sent me a contract to sign, after looking over it I signed, and attached a photo of myself holding my drivers license, as they requested. They sent me a link to onboarding document, in which I believe I may have included my social security number, although that memory is a blur, I'm not sure if I actually did or not. After onboarding was done, they sent me a link to create a username and password for their "Portal", through which all the work would be done: receiving tasks, uploading images, receiving labels, and confirming tasks were shipped. I watched a few poorly constructed "training videos" which were thrown together with stock cartoons and AI-generated voice over. Then they assigned my first task: a single gold ring would be shipped to me soon. I waited, and once it arrived, I took a picture of the ring, of the packing list/shipping label, and uploaded them. Soon enough, they uploaded the label that I would then attach overtop the original label, and then drop off the package at my local Fedex. I would then upload a picture of the receipt, confirming I shipped it out, and my task was done, onto the next one. This continued for a month. They informed me I would not be receiving a paycheck until one month after the first package was shipped. When I asked why, they claimed it was because previous employees tried to get away with not doing the work. I believed this. Now, when I had first been offered the job, I felt unsure about it, so I decided to do some research on it. However, seeing as this "company" had only recently been created, nothing came up in a google search, not even their website. There were no online posts of other people warning against this scam, nothing came up about parcel mule scams, I'd never even heard of a parcel mule scam. I asked for advice from people around me, and they also seemed unsure, but I was too ignorantly hopeful to listen to my gut, so I continued on. For the next few weeks I did what they assigned: received, documented, and shipped off what I now know to be illegally acquired goods. After a few weeks, I received a phone call offering a promotion. They now wanted me to, using my credit card, go to local stores and buy items to be shipped, instead of them being shipped to me, saying none of the money would come from my own pocket, they would send me the funds for it. They said they would send funds to pay off my credit card, so it could be used for a "training period". They sent me a bank account and routing number to give to my credit card issuer to pay over phone. I did this, and after a couple days the funds bounced back, my balance returned to what it originally was. I had expressed at one point that I was skeptical about all of this, and asked for legal proof of their being a legitimate company, and they happily provided various legal documents that covered their business being legitimized by the Secretary of State of Louisiana, Nancy Lambry. This eased my mind, so I felt okay to start this "job". This is why I felt comfortable enough to leave my previous job. They covered all the bases to make themselves seem legit. So I continued working, and finally the day came that they promised I would be paid, but I received no paycheck. Groing panicked, I threatened not to work until I received the compensation I earned. But heard nothing in response. After a couple days, still with no paycheck, I attempted to log in to the portal, only to find that my account doesnt work. It claimed my username and password was incorrect. I called as many phone numbers as possible, sent dozens of emails, but nobody responded. All of my phone calls went to voice mail immediately. Now in distress, I did some googling, and suddenly the name Prestige Parcel LLC comes up in a Reddit post of people describing their experience, and warning its a scam. If only that post had been made a little earlier. Now I am out one month of pay, back on the endless job search, and behind on all of my bills, and fearful that I will be wrongfully charged for unknowingly participating in this scam.
