I called Precision Door on 10/5/23 to repair a broken garage door spring. We had used them before and were pleased with their service. When the technician came out on 10/5/23 he told me the repair would cost over $1,300 to install a new torsion spring system to help the garage door opener lift the single car door. Just that morning in the mail I had received a Gwinnett County 2023 Edition of Verified Home Services listings. I called the 2 garage door companies listed and they BOTH told me that job would cost not more than $600. I told the technician from Precision this and he said prices had gone up. I asked him to leave and he then offered to "price match". I asked him to leave again and he again offered to "price match". I told him that he was trying to price gouge me and only offered to "price match" once I had caught them attempting to gouge me. Then his boss called and again offered to price match. I told him, in my opinion, at the minimum, this was a deceptive business practice and that I would be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.
