The contract was received and I handwrote a correction on it which showed the wrong shipping address (red flag number one). Once they confirmed that they received the corrected address on the contract I proceeded with the Zelle payment to [email protected]. I emailed again stating that the email address did not match the seller name on the contract which was Kevin Forsi. They replied to send a screen shot of the confirmation of the payment which I did (excluding any account info) and they said they received it. I also received confirmation from my bank that it was received.
Throughout the weekend we kept asking about flight information and delivery. We got no response. We called the number on the website (919-769-4166) and it goes to a google voice where you need to state your name. Then it transfers you to someone who we could hardly understand. We did this on two separate occasions, the first time we were told they would send us the information, the second time they told us to text us what we wanted as they clearly did not understand what we were talking about. (more red flags)
We were supposed to receive the puppy on 8/25, so during that time i started doing more research and found that there are many scams like this going on and I knew we were tricked. I did a lookup of the seller address on the contract (910 Bexton Street Charlotte, NC 28273) and found it to be nothing like the location like they stated in their emails. I did a whois lookup on their domain and see it was just registered on August 2nd which leads me to believe they will probably change it again soon.
On 8/25 we received an email that they just dropped off the puppy at the airport but there was a problem. There was a change in the crate that was needed to ship the puppy due to covid-19 and we would need to send them another $975 to Sammy Tangie at [email protected]. There were so many red flags in this email, they had the destination airport wrong, the shipping company email did not have the correct domain, etc. Needless to say we did not respond (although I was tempted with a few choice words).
Since then there has been no contact.
Calls to my bank said there was nothing we could do about getting the money back. At this point it is more like shame on us for falling for this but I would just hope nobody else falls for this scam.
