I never once gave them my Medicare number but they gave me my number that they apparently have.
They then transferred me to the company Procare Medical Equipment. The same happened with them. They gave me my Medicare number. I never once gave it to me. He then told me the brace is free and at no cost to me. He told me it was optional if I wanted the brace or not They then transferred me to the “shipping department” of their company.
I spoke to a lady that requested my Medicare number. I did not feel comfortable giving this person my Medicare number and lady then tells me “okay goodbye.” She told me they would bill Medicare. It sounded suspicious. I then hung up.
I received a phone call again from the same man as before. He was yelling on phone asking me why didn’t I give the shipping department my Medicare number. I told him I did not feel comfortable giving them my Medicare numbe. He started yelling again and I told him “you said the brace is optional and my decision.” He yelled again stating “I not a scammer ma’am.” Right then I did know this was a scam. I told him “listen to me. I do not want the brace.” He yelled “no you listen to me.” He kept interrupting me so I hung up.
I looked it up on my computer and see that it is a scam targeting at seniors.
