My mother in law was at work late. She got an pop up saying her computer was compromised. She was given an emergency phone number to call. She then called them. They ran scans on her computer. She was told for 3 yrs of support she’d have to pay $495 which she did. Then, the John McCormick asked for $1000 in steam Cards which she purchased and gave him the codes to. He told her that they would reimburse her $850 in a e check or physical check. Once, he finally called her today he was wanting more money. I called the same number and the John Miller was extremely hesitant to give me any information other than he was with PC Live Experts and rapidly gave me a phone number which I had him stumped at he started with a 216 number then the 312 number. While I was talking to him John McCormick was calling my mother in law’s phone over and over after I unplugged the internet and computer completely. I finally answered her phone and John McCormick begged me to to turn the computer back on. He worked all night to fix her email accounts and the hacks on her computer. He argued with me for 11 minutes to give me the physical address which I told him I was calling the BBB. He also gave what he called and FID NUMBER that I asked for TFP2201567. I called the BBB locally and Sandra confirmed it was a scam. No place in Oregon at all the other places she found were in Tennessee and Texas. She paid $495 by credit card and then bought Steam Cards in the amount of $1000 which she gave him the codes from. She called her bank to put a notice to her accounts and is calling her credit card company now.
