Type of a scam Phishing
Right after the call, I received four phone calls in the space of one minute from a completely different number (912) 642-9003 which came up as Processing Department. I did not answer. They called back so quickly I struggled to get to the recent calls and to the info screen to block the caller. I imagine the gig was to get caller #1 to verify it was the person they had the info for and to scare them. Then caller #2 calls to let you know you can pay them X amount to make the issue go away?
And the caller was not foreign sounding and was well spoken. Scary that they can have all of that information about a person.

I have talked to these people and I have been called a "paranoid schitzo" when I call their scam I have been hung up on, called an [censored], and even had them reply "you must be crazy". All are followed by a hangup. Every call I have made to them they can't provide any information or ask to verify information before speaking about the "debt" which is not how any debt collector actually works. They want you to provide all the information to them, vs the consumer verifying the information. This is a big red flag, and you should legally be notified via mail within 5 days of the phone call for a legitimate debt/collection (FTC Law). Someone needs to stop these people, its very annoying and I have now blocked almost 8 phone numbers and still get these fake collector calls. They also provide a different business name or won't tell you what their business name is. "Allocation Adjustment" or "Processing Department" is not the name of a business. These people pray on the elderly and people with some checkered past, and I hope they get the karma that is coming down on them very soon.
