Progressive Van Lines’s moving company

were to move me from East coast to West coast, mid December of 2021. The date came and went. I talked to Scott, who was very professional, was lower in price than other companies. Sold me a bill of goods that never came to be. $1812.00 was given to Progressive for partial payment. I remove money from a checking account ( which you should never do, (no recourse for recovery). Use a credit card! They did say the next billing cycle would be refunded, so far not. The web site says their ScamPulse.com affiliated and we’re top rated for 2020-2021, when they’ve only been in business since beginning of 2021. The phone number 877-201-6459 belongs to Allstate since latter part of December. Now I call Scott on his personal number, doesn’t pick up, you can leave a message, but if transferred it goes back to Allstate, not their service dept.

Progressive Van Lines is a SCAM!!!, Stay Away. My wife and I learned the hard way. All seemed professional in the beginning. In early November of 2021 we started looking for companies for our move from North Las Vegas to North Carolina with a move date of 12/27/21. After speaking with several companies we got what appeared to be a fair and reasonable quote with Progressive, or so we thought. It started with sales rep Josh King, all communications via phone and email went well. Inventory was taken, Services and fees were discussed, the date we were told would have a window of 12/27 to 12/29 for pick up of our furniture and a Moving Estimate was created and sent via email. The initial quote of $3,536.76 (based on 550 cu ft) with $1696.76 deposit. The remaining Balance of $1840 to be paid half ($920) on pick up and the remaining half ($920) to be paid upon delivery. was reasonable for a 2 bedroom. Knowing it was an estimate we were aware it could possibly be a little higher once actual cubic footage was calculated. However, some things to take into consideration. When stating a King size bed and mattress... Specify if the bed has a headboard and/or footboard or drawers at the foot of the bed as those are extras...meaning they take up more room and upping the price. In hindsight Josh should have asked those type of questions even for an initial quote. Long story short, We were suppose to get a call before the move as to what company and when they were showing up. Never happened. Reached out to Progressive via all numbers I had, sent text and emails and received no response. Customer service was full of excuses and of no help. finally on 12/27 ( the day of the move) we get a call from Frank Summers, Progressive's Logistics Coordinator/ QA Supervisor who stated they have been trying to get in touch with me. But, no missed calls, voicemails or emails were received. Anyway, he went over the inventory and addressed the things I mentioned above. The new Binding Moving Estimate was now $3,812.70 (based on 620 cu ft) but, this increase was anticipated. However, Frank said that because of the additional cubic feet an additional $738 deposit was required on the additional cu ft used by the carrier and was to be paid on Venmo to @progressivepayments. Honey Bee Logistics was the name provided as the carrier but, no additional information on them was provided. Since the window was 12/27 to 12/29 we were uneasy but, felt they have 2 more days to reach out and pick up. We felt a little re-assurance by Frank's call. But, when the end of business concluded on 12/28 we were not only uneasy but getting pissed as Progressives customer service is beyond [censored]s. They have no answers and make nothing but, excuses. To make matters worse, when we clicked on the invoice number in the email containing the Binding Moving Estimate we got the following message: "Congratulations on your move on 12/27/2021!! Please contact Customer Service for any questions." and no Invoice information to be found. I then called every phone number I had for every department and rep. sent texts and emails. finally got a hold of the 24/7 customer service number, after a dozen tries, and got an absolute waste of space [censored]. At least the [censored] sent over a revised Binding Moving Estimate (2 hours after the phone call) after informing her of the issue when clicking on the order number. With still no response from any Reps of Progressive on when the movers would arrive and no movers showing up come 12:01 12/29, I contacted my Credit card companies and filed claims for reimbursement based on, fraud, breach of contract and failure to render services paid for.

On the morning of 12/29 We had to scramble and hire another company as there was still no communication from Progressive. We Hired VanLines Inc. found on Consumer Affairs'. who were no BS. Jack the sales rep even pointed out that Honey Bee Logistics was permanently close according to there website. He took an accurate inventory and asked all the right questions. The quote was Higher, $5078.83, but stated they could do it even with such short notice. We were given a pick up window of 8am to12 noon on 12/30. and even received a call from Vanlines stating they tried to get to us that evening but, wouldn't be able to. But, would be there between 8am and 12 noon tomorrow. Sure enough at 9:45am this Morning, 12/30/21, the movers arrived from Express Van Lines (Contracted by Vanlines Inc.) the 3 man team was fast, thorough, and pleasant. Mena, customer service, who processed our payments was a pleasure.

Lesson learned. Don't use a broker if you can help it. Use a company that does the actual physical move with there own employees and trucks. If you have to use a broker... research!!!! you may get lucky as we did with VanLines Inc.
