Propertyreported.com signed me up for a subscription without my consent

Hello,

This web site, PropertyReported.com, allows the user to obtain public information on properties. I used it, twice on a single day (Nov. 2023) to obtain property info on a couple of properties that I had recently inherited. Unbeknownst to me, I was signed up programmatically (i.e. by their web site software) for a monthly subscription to the web site costing $28.95/month. I didn't take any action to sign up for this, it was done to me by default. So once I noticed that they had been withdrawing $28.95 each month starting Dec. 2024, I called them and they promised to refund me these funds. Instead, they held on to my credit card info and have most recently charged me for six more months, totaling $144. I have since disputed the charges with my Credit Union and cancelled the credit card. Thank you for looking into this.

Hidden subscription from propertyreported.com after a $1 report purchase

I was on a Henry County government website to obtain my warranty deed. A pop-up from Propertyreported.com occurred and offered the report for $1.00. I paid and approved the $1.00 and got a my report . The problem is, the site signed me up for a $28.95 per month subscription that I DID NOT approve. When I call the company number, the person on the other end started the conversation with “are you calling to cancel your subscription? I advised I never agreed to a subscription and was told they are a 3rd party for the company who issues the subscription and that they automatically sign.you up even though you check NO. How the heck did they even get my new card info to try it again. Thank goodness my bank alerts me n declines the charge as soon as it hits.
