I registered on the website Workshift (https://workshift-sol.co.jp/en/) and completed a job assigned through it. The payment was $3200. To receive the payment, I was instructed to open an account with a bank called Grand Elite Finance. Furthermore, I was informed that in order to transfer funds from that account to another, I needed to obtain three codes: VAT, IMF, and LBT. I paid the required fees to obtain these codes. ($200, $375, and $750). The fees were paid from my bank account in Mexico. The fees were refunded to the account at Grand Elite Finance. Later, when I initiated the transfer process, I received an email from the IRS through Grand Elite Finance. It stated that I needed to pay $1500, and if I didn't pay, the transfer couldn't proceed. They assured that the $1500 would be refunded immediately. Realizing something was amiss, I consulted with AARP, and it became evident that it was a scam. I want to reclaim the fees I paid to obtain the codes.
