I have been sending resumes for a 3D artist position on LinkedIn and Indeed. I was contacted by "Cherelyn Copelton" an HR representative of Possible Productions, supposedly based in Los Angeles. I went through two interviews, one through Microsoft Teams and one on the phone with a hiring manager. His accent makes me believe he was foreign perhaps Mexican. After that I was told that the job was mine. I received this email:

I sent them my ID and direct deposit information. They sent me two checks for $4850 which I deposited. I was then told to buy my computer and software from their chosen vendor which I did. After this their checks bounced. I was then ghosted on my supposed start day.
