Type of a scam Online Purchase
I checked my credit card. There was a purchase from an unaffiliated company (CAMPAIGNC* ECOMMERCE N) that went through for a close, but not the exact amount of my purchase. This was the only purchase that I made today, so that had to be it. I decided to check my spam mail. I found a confirmation email from a third party that said "Descriptor in the bank statement will appear as CAMPAIGNC and might be different from website you bought from."
There were too many red flags, and I immediately became nervous that this company was a fraud. So I locked my credit card and then asked for a refund. Their response to a refund was, "Thank you for getting in touch. I acknowledge your desire to cancel your order and receive a refund. It's important to note that our terms and conditions typically do not include provisions for refunds. Nevertheless, we greatly value our customers and their satisfaction. To address this matter, I am prepared to offer you a refund of 35%. Are you interested in proceeding with this 35% refund resolution? We await your response and look forward to hearing from you."
After reading their response, I looked at the company's return and refund page. At no point did it state the company doesn't refund. Their website states, "Most Returns Are Processed Within 7-14 Business Days After We Receive Your Package. We'll Issue The Refund To Your Payment Account In Advance. Once Your Refund Has Been Issued, You Will Receive A Confirmation Email."
It is safe to say I will be contacting the fraud department when their payment posts and asking that a new card number be issued to me. I am also posting to the ScamPulse.com and asking this website to be removed to try to protect other consumers from falling victim.
