Caller called my Granny by name and stated they were from the public defenders office and they had my son in jail and gave his specific name. they asked her to pay. Luckily I was there to stop her since I was able to open my security camera's and show my son was home and all was good. This person needs to go to jail for impersonating a public defender.

My father was called this afternoon by a fake police department saying that I was in a car accident and ran a red light because I was distracted by my phone. The scammer also told my dad that I hit a 5 month pregnant woman who was in "critical condition" at the hospital. They then proceeded to tell my dad that I didn't have my phone available and I said that my dad was the only one who could be called because I did not want to create a "scandal". There was also a woman, named Catherine Mayne, who said she was part of the Public Defender Office who said that my dad needed to wire money to them in order to pay my bail. They then said that a man based in the Dominican Republic named Raphael Vasquez would send the Public Defender Office my bail if my dad agreed to wire him the money to pay him back. Thankfully my father was smart and called my cell phone to make sure that this was truly a hoax but people need to be aware of schemes like this.
