My elderly father in law received a letter purported to be from Publishers Clearing House (dated 9 Feb 2024), claiming he won a $750,000 grand prize. It went on to say that his payment would need to be processed within 5 days, with a claims agent named "Mr. Glen Smith" at phone number 914.292.6051. The letter also said "Important. We are required by international Sweepstakes by law [sic] to pay towards taxes, handling, and processing fees. Enclosed is your sponsorship check to assist you with out of pocket expenses. Contact your claims agent..." The letter included a $8,900.35 check drawn on UMB Bank NA, St. Joseph MO, with "EMC Insurance" as the payee.

My grandfather received a letter from " publishers clearing house" that he won $750,000 along with a sponsors check for the " processing fee" price ($8,900.60). He was told to contact "Mr Glen Smith" (518-772-2899) to get the info on how to receive the "winnings"

I got a letter in the mail from Publishers Clearing House containing a check for $9800.75. It said I won $750,000.00 and I was supposed to call a number provided to speak to a claims agent to discuss my winnings.
