The scammer contacted me by phone and said that I won the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes. I had entered the sweepstakes months ago. They knew all of my information and all about the sweepstakes prize.(I believed that Publisher's Clearing House was a legitimate sweepstakes). They told me that I had to pay a small portion of the taxes with a Green Dot card and everything would be on its way from Cleveland, TN. After purchasing 2 cards totaling the $485 they wanted another $250 I told them I didn't have anymore money and they wanted me to open a new bank account and write a bad check to get a new card and they were irritated with me because I told them no that I could not do that it was dishonest and wrong. I did not have anymore contact with them until the next day I called the number back and asked for my money back he said I would have to give him the receipts where I purchased the cards and he began trying to get me to purchase another Green Dot card so I could collect my prize money that the Lord wanted me to have that money.

I contacted Green Dot through their email on the back of the card to dispute the transaction and they also asked for a picture of the receipts and then said they could not refund my money.

I believe that Green Dot is affiliated if not themselves with most of the scammers because most of the scammers ask for Green Dot cards. I feel as though this company should be investigated and the cards be taken off of the shelves.
