I received a phone call while at work and an automated voice message told me I had missed an electricity utility payment. I was prompted to follow up with the company to get the issue resolved and I clicked 1 for yes. I was transferred to a human who asked me for information on my address and the issue I was experiencing. I told them about the notice I just received and he told me I needed to send a payment in to stop the city from turning my power off. I followed his directions to verify the payment through Zelle and clicked transfer funds. At this point I got suspicious and attempted to cancel the payment but it was too late.

individual called and said that my power would be disconnected if i didnt make a payment.... I asked enough questions and he said he would have to disconnect
