I was asked to send the fee for the dog plus delivery to the seller. So, not wanting to lose my dog, I did. Following this we then set up the delivery day and time ( which was supposed to be today, at 3:00 pm.) Over the next few days we continued texting. I was prepping for my pup, and the seller was answering questions. I had a sinking feeling though thurs/fri when I went to show a friend the website, noticed his site was offline. I contacted him to alert him, as I know as a fellow business owner that you have to online to stay on top of it, and he seemed grateful.
He said he was updating his site after adopting his last dog and had taken it down temporarily.
I felt that that could be the case, and it was almost delivery day, ( sat was delivery day, and it was just 1-2 days prior), so I went with it.????
But today, still no reply from him, after 3-4 texts about the dog, and when my husband went to call him twice, the number was now disconnected and the website down- now saying ‘account suspended ( blocked.)
I never did get my dog and have spent hours on the phone shutting down accounts, adding extra 2 factor id to all my accounts, and just processing how people can even do this to others, especially as I sadly thought of little children waiting for a first puppy…
So, please let this help another family and stop the scammers!
I also filed a claim to get the money back with my back, closed my zelle account, and will be using aura credit monitor service now to protect us.
