business right away. I looked through the dogs they have for sale and found a beautiful dog named Nala. It said I could email them to inquire about the dog.
So, I did. I received an email shortly after from an email address called “[email protected]” and the email was very well put together. It
was long, detailed, organized, and informative in the way you would expect an email to come from a business. We started to exchange emails where they asked me questions to see if I would be a good fit or not, and to see if they would trust me to be a responsible dog owner. All of these emails and questions made me feel this was all very real and legit. It lowered my guard and made me feel like they cared just as much, if not more, than I did. So, I didn’t think much about it and continued to move forward to acquire the dog. We agreed the dog would cost $700 plus a $200 delivery fee for a total cost of $900. They said I needed to pay half upfront for the dog and I could pay the other half when I received it. They then said they would send me a purchase contract for the dog that we would both sign and date. The contract also looked very good and believable, so I signed it and sent it back. I told my mom about how excited I was, but she was curious how I found this, so she started to do a little research.
She found a page online that I never found or saw that said this website was a complete scam, so she called me right away. The link for what she found is here: https://www.scampulse.com/puppy-scam-

At this point, I called Bank of America right away to stop the payment, but it was too late. I emailed the fake company asking for proof of the dog and proof I would receive the dog via FaceTime. They said they would call me later that night. I didn’t like this response and felt this was definitely a scam, so I asked for a refund of my $450 as in the emails they say they offer a 30-day full return and money-back guarantee.
Obviously, they did not respond, have not responded since, and confirmed that I most definitely got scammed and paid for a product that I will never receive. I have filed a claim with my bank and I have also reported to the FBI's cyber scam department.
