I received two threatening letters in the mail from Quest Legal Group claiming I took out a payday loan from EZMONEY. The disturbing part of this is that they had the last 4 digits of my social security number, my name & home address. They also knew who my employer is and they mentioned some of my relatives, two of whom had passed away. The first letter demanded $1093.00. The second letter demanded $395.00. I never took out a payday loan with EZMONEY. I am hoping this harrassment by mail stops soon. I cannot even begin to tell you how upset these letters made me until I found out this was a scam, thanks to several people who had posted online. I am hoping I can do the same for others receiving these letters.

Received letter from Quest Legal Group on behalf of stated creditor EZMoney for an installment loan (File No 7835750170) a subsidiary of EZCORP. Requesting a settlement payment in the amount of $395.00. I have not worked with this company nor have I taken any form of EZ loan out.

I received a letter from Quest Legal Group with a return address of 3911 Cleveland Ave. San Diego California which comes back to a Post Office. The letter is on weird paper, has information that anyone can get online or by running a credit check. It has my husband listed as well as my Monther with her maiden name who passed away years ago. It also lists my credit score which is way inaccurate and states that I will be served papers but does not list a county. The printing is all fuzzy. I called the phone number listed 3 times and each time a recording says sorry nobody is available to take your call and then hangs up. I did go on the website to "check the status" of my claim and it has my email address from like 20 years ago but yet the letter was addressed to my married name so something wasn't adding up.

Letter received stating due to a severe delinquency of a previous loan through EZCorp/ Ezmoney, they were filling a lawsuit. The listed my aunts names as witness they could subpoena due to them being listed as a reference on the original loan. They listed the last 4 of my social as well as a previous employer. I know that it is a scam as i have never taken a loan ever.

I received a first class mail on September 20, 2024 stating “notification of lawsuit and civil complaint.” This was not a certified letter. It stated that I was in severe delinquency of a previous installment loan originating with EZMONEY (a subsidiary of EZCORP). Lots of this notification was spent threatening of lawsuit if payment of $732.63 is not remitted immediately by September 27, 2024. They mailed the letter September 13, 2024. The letter claimed that I had committed wire fraud because I supposedly closed or changed an ACH account resulting in NSF funds during my time in the service.
It threatened to subpoena my present wife and my ex-wife’s deceased father. It gave a case number and directed to me to pay at their website. Information contained in this letter also had my present address, my credit score, and the last four digits of my social security number. There was a small Cc: U.S. District court and Transunion credit bureau. Also was a filed stamp stating March 3, 2024 by Oscar.
At the end of the letter it stated that their intent is to immediately have me served a court summons by the county sheriffs office to appear in civil court for further action.

Official looking letter arrived by amil with my name, address, husband and mother in law's name on it stating that I took a loan out thru EZMoney when I worked at a previous company (Which I haven't worked for in over 6 years). Letter states they'll take legal action if payment not sent.

I received a letter claiming it was a second notice for a lawsuit summons but also claims that if I pay before the date on the letter they won't file the lawsuit and they know I have a house now so they will put a lein on it. It has my consumer information it looks like they have my credit information and says that this loan was opened when I worked for a certain company that I left in 2016. This letter claims to have filed the suit in March 2024. I have recieved no notices from the county court.

Same as previous letter claiming money owed and threatening wage garnishment and property liens.Claims money owed to EZMONEY(Subsidiary of EZCORP. Credit score listed on notice along with threatening court summons for wire fraud.

*** I never applied for or heard of that company, no dates, and listed my husband and deceased mother as witnesses) Claims intent to serve a court summons by the county (no name of county) sheriff's office. Attached payment form lists RE: EZMONEY File: 7832488317 Amount due: $1,453.41. claims cc: US District court & transunion credit bureau (Lists a credit score also)

I received a letter saying I owed a debt from Ezmoney over 12 years ago. It had my last 4 of social, an employer I worked for over 13 years ago. Also had family member's names on it. Threatened to sue in civil court and wanted me to go online and pay the debt. When I look up the address it is for the postal service in San Diego.
