My aunt unfortunately got involved in this scam. She tried to rent a car from a website called Car Drive Rental at http://quickcarsrental.com/ with the number +1-855-589-1588. They also have another similar website at https://www.cardriverental.com/ with the number +1-866-972-0669. When I looked up the company name and phone number, no other information shows up. No reviews, nothing. My aunt paid them through a credit card and then tried to cancel the rental due to a family emergency. They said they couldn’t return the money through the original payment so they needed another method - Zelle, Cashapp, Venmo, bank info, etc. My poor aunt gave it to them in an hour-long odd process where they asked her to download an app (QuickSupport by TeamViewer) that allowed them to view and control HER phone. They used her phone to sign her up for Cashapp and Venmo and then added her bank account info to them. I’m not entirely sure what all happened with them but she ended up getting charges of $325 and $426.54 from Zelle by a merchant named “CHERITH”, and another charge of $326 from what appears to be an anonymous merchant using Square (gosq.com). We have since contacted her bank to report this fraudulent activity and we are getting her money back now. We also found out that the square anonymous charge actually came from a CashApp charge. This is ridiculous - no good business should EVER ask for your personal information or sign you up for third party apps to help ‘give you a refund’. If it seems fishy, don’t go through with it. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR INFORMATION!
