"Christine" from "QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions" called to advise that they had attempted to bill our credit card on file, but it had declined three times. She advised that we now had to pay by ACH, or services would be interrupted after midnight. They had the product name, license and number of users correct, and the company card on file had indeed recently expired.

"Christine" sent an invoice from email address and provided routing and account information for a transfer in the amount of $10,987.54. Our bookkeeper, presented with seemingly accurate information that should only be know by QuickBooks, processed the transfer.

The next day, "Christine" called back and advised that she had a special deal for us - that if we acted now, we could get a second and third year subscription for only $14,896.48. At this point, I was asked for approval, and after following the email chain, became very suspicious. I Googled the sender's email address and found this site, detailing almost EXACTLY the same scam. I immediately contacted my bank and since this turned out to be an international transfer, which involves a more lengthy process than a domestic one, we were able to reverse the initial $10,987.54 transfer. If the scammers hadn't gotten greedy after succeeding with the first ACH, we would have been out almost $11k. We're still not sure how the scammers obtained our QuickBooks product and license information, or how they knew our credit card on file had expired. Perhaps a data breach at Intuit?

The email address used was [email protected]. Looks like it was filtered out of the report above.

This company pretended to be Intuit Quickbooks Accounting Software..... I thought I was renewing my annual subscription... they talked be into paying for two year renewal.... come to find out they have nothing to do with the legitimate Intuit company

We were due to renew our QuickBooks subscription. The woman called and said they had been trying to charge our credit card with success (3 times). She stated they could only try 3 times so in order to not have disruption in our service, she requested we do an ACH payment. We approved the transaction as it was what we thought was QuickBooks. She emailed a receipt for the payment (uploaded a copy). We only discovered it was fraud when we got a call from QuickBooks stating our balance was unpaid.

In 2020 I was contacted by this company pretending to be Intuit Quickbooks. They told me I had to renew for 5 years and I had to pay to have tech support. For both, it was approximately $6000.00 When they installed their version of software it was never right. I had to contact them at least once a week. On January 16, 2023, they contacted me again and said I had to renew for 5 years. I told them I still had 3 years on my contract. They said no I had received my subscription in 2017. That is when I knew I had been scammed, I told him I was tired of him lying to me and I was going to hang up and did. He called me right back and said we had been disconnected. I told him no I was going to hang up and again and they were never to contact me again. When I got off the phone with him, I contacted the correct Intuit Quickbooks. They told me they never give a subcription for more than a year and they had not charged me the $6000.00. I had to pay them $514.00 for my correct renewal. I was watching my checking account and seen where the fake company tried to get more money from me. I told my bank not to pay the check. I had to close out my account and open a new one.

On February 27th, 2023 the same company called me 3 times. I told them to never contact me again. They tried telling me they were the same company as Intuit. The 2 numbers they called on were: 806-531-5200 and 888-377-6362.

I contacted the real Intuit and they said unless I asked for a call back they would never call me.

Please let people know about this so maybe they will not be scammed like I was.

Thank you
