I was contacted about a position for Data Entry for $35 per hour, remote. I was asked to do an interview over Microsoft teams messaging service. I had not applied to this job, to my knowledge, but went through the interview to see where it would lead. I was given a lot of boilerplate info about the company (Ragn-Sells) and told they were creating a new office near me that would be staffed remotely. I was asked a lot of informed and standard job interview questions. The person on the other end said to wait 20 mins for my answer, and 20 mins later he told me I was "hired" and that I should expect an onboarding email soon. He asked for my name and email address. Then he told me I'd have to purchase equipment and software for the job but it would be reimbursed by check. That is when I knew for sure it was a scam, so I left and blocked the contact.
