Received a stern voicemail about debt collection and instructions to call back or go to RCA pay to make a payment. A quick search revealed it to be a scam; the apparently buy non enforceable debt and leave you a message threatening to sue if you don’t call them back.

This scammer calls from a different phone number every day. The same recorded message is left every time advising that I have an account under collections that they are trying to settle. No name is mentioned on the account and the recording is made to sound as if it is a live agent calling. The message is as follows: We received preliminary paperwork in regards to a breach of contract with our client's account has been placed with our office. We did want to, at least, out of courtesy reach out to you to give you a chance to resolve the matter before further collection efforts or credit reporting, if applicable, begins on this account. You may resolve this account by calling us back at this number or go to our website to chat with an agent and settle for less. Because it costs less resolve it online savings is passed along. The website address again is rcapay.com. That's R as in receivables, C as in collections, A as in associates, pay dot com. By law I am required to inform you that this call is from a debt collector. Thank you very much and have a good day.
