The scammer name appears to be Mr Clinton Cole. He contacted me via Realtor, com for a rental property in Brooklyn NY I was interested. He requested financial info about myself and a week later he stated my application was approved and he sent me a lease contract signed my him and a agreement letter between him and the landlord he claimed to represent Mr Muhan Zhang. The lease stipulated that $1,800 for security deposit and first and last rental month was required to save the unit for me. Mr Cole also sent me a copy of his NY driver license. Since i need to move to Brooklyn for job purposes and after Mr Cole insistence to wire the money to assure the property i accept and send first $1,800 for security deposit and then $3,600 for first and last rental months. Today 06/11/24 we agreed to meet in person for him to give me the keys at the property. He never showed up. I met Mr. Zhang who actually lives at the property and he manifested his apartment was never on the market for leasing not his signature in the lease is valid.

I have in my power all, the documents signed by Mr Cole, including text messages.

I first contacted said phone number on the listing and reached a Roberto Hernandez. He then told me I would pay $860 as a security deposit and then one month rent up front. Then he asked for 2 more months rent up-front. When I asked for my money back he disconnected his phone number and has disappeared.

In July 2018, I was contacted by a Keith Hastings and elected to invest my marketing budget into the company's lead package. In the process, Keith mentioned that there were no contracts for me to review and that acceptaxe was with payment. In emails we discussed the terms and rates and I kindly elected to proceed with Realtor.com. In August, I was contacted by customer care which is were I discovered there was confusion as to what I was actually purchasing. I was lead to believe, and was never corrected by Keith, that my lead package was a MONTHLY basis, not annually. Once I discovered this horrific and costly misrepresentation I contacted customer care THREE TIMES. Each time, my “complaint ticket was submitted” and I was to hear back within 72hrs. Today, I called again and was informed that the “complaint was expedited” and the representative for Realto.com even stated he suggested I make a BBB complaint to push things along. I have never received a contract with said terms, have been paying monthly for something I did NOT agree too, and REALTOR.COM has yet to respond to my complaints. I was SOLD on marketing that is NOT truthful! Do not waste your time with this company as they are not clear in their intentions. Furthermore, being the largest recognized BRAND in the industry, the greed and misrepresentation, make for a poor reflection on evert licensed agent.
