I received an open package of medical equipment that I did not order. The enclosed paperwork requests my health insurance information to the bill. The items are Progressive Lower Lumbar Back Brace, Progressive Orthopedic OA Hinged Knee Brace-Adjustable Support (L side), Progressive Orthopedic OA Hinged Knee Brace-Adjustable Support (R side), and two Progressive Knee Suspension Sleeves. It was shipped via UPS; I decline the delivery and plan to return it to UPS.

Omnimed Supplies Corp called my home. They said that they wanted to provide me with information regarding different ortho devices. They asked for my Medicare number and, unfortunately, I shared this with them. A box arrived full of plastic ortho devices. I never ordered anything, but even if I had, It was essentially trash. They submitted a claim to Medicare for $4,384.90. Medicare paid $2,483.12. I notified Medicare that this was a scam. I’ve looked this company up, and it does not exist. Multiple fraudulent claims.

My 83 year old mother received a phone call from a guy who asked if her ankles and wrists were giving her problems. She said yes. He said he would send her braces and they wouldn’t cost her anything. She, of course, didn’t understand most of what he was saying. He did send them, with paperwork to fill out to bill Medicare. We are sending them back, without filling out anything.
