Recovery DME Reports & Reviews (1)

- Evansville, IN, USA

I received a package from Recovery DME dated March 20, 2019. I had not requested any products from that company to be sent to me, nor had my physician done so. Since I didn't know what it was I opened it. There were two products and two letters enclosed. The first was for an ARYSE Universal Back Brace; the second was for an Aryse Wrist Support Brace. The letters were generic and said that my physician had requested they send these products to me. I had never spoken to my physician about needing either of these supports, and both were a very small size--which wouldn't come close to fitting me.

Because I had opened the package, I had to pay over $20 to return it. When I went to the Post Office I spoke with the Post Master and explained my situation. He told me he had just heard on the radio that there is a government sting on at least 10 companies who are doing this to consumers. I do not know if this company was one of them. I told him I planned to contact Medicare and was filing a complaint with the better business bureau. I paid to have a certified copy of who had signed for it upon it's arrival at Recovery DME. I have since Tracked that information and found a person with the initials of CB who signed for it.

I also enclosed a very specific letter in the package demanding they remove any and all my personal information from their files, not to contact me via phone or mail, and definitely NOT to try to charge me for the equipment or send me any further products. I know enough about Medicare's practices and they would refuse a claim for these products unless there was specific documentation for the need of these products and the proper codes. I had googled Recovery DME at their address and discovered this is not the first time they have done this to mostly elderly people. After Medicare denies the claim--which one person said was $4,000 billed to Medicare--I have no doubt this company would then attempt to collect from the one to which they mailed the products.

I have copies of the package information, the name and numbers of the products and the quantity sent. I also have pictures of each product still in their original packaging with labels. I am sending a copy of the letter so you can see that they are lying about my physician requesting their products. If you need any more information, please contact me and I will gladly send it to you.
