Someone claiming to be affiliated with the company ING Group contacted me with a remote, data entry/customer service and administrative assistant job opportunity, including salary and benefits information. I was told to download an app called Signal so I could connect with the hiring manager. I did not, but I proceeded to ask more questions about the job opportunity. They finally responded to my questions and eventually asked if I had Zoom, Telegram, or Skype since the interview would be conducted via one of those apps. I asked for more clarification but they kept insisting I connect with them via Zoom or Skype. They finally asked for my email (same email used in the exchange with the suspected scammer) associated with my Zoom account so they could send an invitation, which I never received. I asked for the immediate job listing via the company website so I could apply directly. I never heard back. I looked up the company website and alerted them to the scam email I believe I had received. Now I'm reporting it to the BBB. The personal information they have is whatever is on my resume -- including my name, phone number, email address, LinkedIn address, and employment/education history. I did not give my SS# or bank info.
