I posted a listing for used clothing to Poshmark (PM), an online sale platform. A potential buyer indicated that they were interested but asked me to send photos to their personal email address, saying that the items photos did not display well on their app. So I sent photos to them directly from my personal email account. They then said: "perfect, I will purchase." They said Poshmark would email directly to me a confirmation and link to complete the purchase. They also included a URL link (apparently from the Poshmark website) that I could use, in case I do not get the email direct from PM. I did not find the PM email in my inbox, but in my spam folder. Little did I realize that the scammers had sent me a fake purchase pop-up window in the PM website which pretended to be Poshmark. Then a chat window opened asking for further banking verification since this would be my first sale with PM. The pop up window and chat window appeared in a browser context that seemed identical to a live page from Poshmark, so I did not suspect. I became suspicious when they asked me to confirm my bank balance and to "top up" my balance with an additional $200. (WTH?!!) I wrote to them in their fake chat window "why do I need to add money to my account if this transaction is a deposit, not a withdrawl? This feels like a scam." At that point they stopped communicating in the chat window. The company that debited my account is: CSMONEY LIMASSOL CYP (Cyprus)

My bank is trying to dispute the charge. I do not yet know if they will be successful.
