Type of a scam Rental
cragslist and remitrent for a property at *** *** **** ***** ****. I reached out via all channels to see
what our options were: 1) https://remitrent.com/property/cozy-and-private-beach-bungalow-hot-tubdog-
ok-3-short-blocks-to-beach/ 2) https://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/sub/d/santa-cruz-fully-furnishedcottage-
with/7120456359.html 3) https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/7458464?
source_impression_id=p3_1589744177_fKhYOIawOyTFTG5I&guests=1&adults=1. It appears as
though the only legitimate listing is the one on airbnb. I, however, submitted two payments of $2,000
via Zelle transfer from Chase and provided copies of paystubs, W2s and photo of my passport. I had
also booked via airbnb, and realized that this was a scam once I spoke to the owner via airbnb who
flagged this as as an imposter of the actual home owner. He provided a copy of his supposed drivers
license and other details to confirm home ownership.
