“We have reviewed your resume online and I am glad to inform you that your resume details and background stood out to us, we would like to offer you a remote job position within our organization "DATAMERITZ". We believe your experience and skills would be a good asset to our company and hereby invite you for an online interview with the company.”
All communication was via Microsoft Teams. When I asked for a job description, I was given the following:
“ * Supports company operations by maintaining office systems and supervising staff.
* Maintains office services by organizing office operations and procedures, preparing payroll, controlling correspondence, designing filing systems, reviewing and approving supply requisitions, and assigning and monitoring clerical functions.
* Provides historical reference by defining procedures for retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records.
* Maintains office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement.
* Designs and implements office policies by establishing standards and procedures, measuring results against standards, and making necessary adjustments.
* Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
* Keeps management informed by reviewing and analysing special reports; summarizing information; identifying trends.
* Maintains office staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
* Maintains office staff job results by coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees, and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
* Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.” I asked for further explanation and was given nothing.
I proceeded with the “training” to see where it was going. I was given a writing assignment explaining:
“ (A) Personality Traits
(B) Following Rules & Procedures
(C) Poise Under Pressure
(D) Optimism
(E) Calm vs. Excitable
(F) Feeling-Focus vs. Fact-Focused”
I completed the task and was told a check for “supplies” would be overnighted to me. I received the check but it was from an account other than Datameritz. I was then repeatedly pressured to deposit the check. I then told the guy named Adonis Zeno that I was no longer interested because he was hounding me and I had already explained I would be tied up all day. He then said it would be ok if I made the deposit the next day. I again said I was not interested in the position.
