I saw an ad for a remote work opportunity posted in my community’s Facebook group. The person who posted it asked for my name and number to send to the recruiter, who then contacted me on WhatsApp. The more we messaged, the more red flags emerged. Once I got the business name and website, I searched for it and found this scam report. I’m glad I did before I got any further.

The “work” described was to leave reviews on websites and the “employer” claimed to be AirBNB but eventually identified themselves as White Star Real Estate.

White Star seems to be a legitimate company, but the www.whitestar-realestatework.com site seems suspect and unrelated to the real company, which is based in Europe.
