Started with a text on Tuesday from Minna Oksanen from Tilt Biotherapeutics stating they got my resume from Indeed. Offered me one of 3 positions to interview for, remote job with benefits. I looked the company up, saw her picture and what the company was about. Sounded legit. Sent me to skype James McDaniel, HR manager, which went on for days. Basic searches showed this all seemed legit so I continued. Gave them my address so they could send the startup check for supplies and materials. Had to send the deposit info and any spending receipts to an email for confirmation. Got that on Friday and deposited it, $4,700. Saturday was a bunch of chaos, attempting to send money to different names via my bank zelle app and venmo. Only one payment worked on zelle, $750, all others declined. Finally they needed 3- $500 apple gift cards, stupid me told them red flags were high but it was their money so i did it anyway. Sunday was nothing. Monday was 3 more gift cards, $500 each. Again done. McDaniel talked me through the process, kept telling me to clear my head because I was one step closer to training for this remote payroll job that sounded perfect. Monday night they wanted me to try one more zelle or venmo payment which declined so 1 more gift card purchase of $500. Three times he said the company was giving me money, $150 sign on, 60 for gas, 60 for gas, 120 more for my trouble. There would be about $50 left from the startup. Then crickets, aside from i should be hearing soon from my trainer and supervisor. Wednesday afternoon, the $4,700 startup check was recalled. Now I'm overdrawn, out of money, and can't get a response from anyone. I fell for it.
