Scam Description – Reservation Desk Fraudulent Charges & Deceptive Practices

I was scammed by Reservation Desk, a deceptive third-party travel service that misrepresented its pricing and overcharged me.

I originally booked my flight through Booking.com and later called what I believed was their customer service to modify my return flight. Instead, I was connected to Reservation Desk, an unauthorized third-party service.

The agent I spoke to quoted me $389.20 for the flight change, which I agreed to. However, after the charge was processed, I discovered I had been billed $500—an overcharge of more than $110 that I never authorized.

This unauthorized charge caused my bank account to go into deficit, leading to additional fees. When I contacted Reservation Desk to resolve the issue, they delayed, misled me, and provided conflicting information. Instead of refunding the overcharge, they stalled the process and refused to take responsibility.

When I demanded a full refund, they refused. Instead, they offered to cancel my flight and give me only $300 back—meaning I would lose my flight and still be out money. This is a clear case of fraudulent business practices and customer exploitation.

Evidence I Have:

Call recordings where they quoted the wrong price.

Emails and screenshots showing the original charge agreement vs. the actual charge.

My bank statement showing the unauthorized charge and its financial impact.

Why This Matters:

Reservation Desk is scamming customers by misrepresenting pricing, overcharging, and then refusing to correct their mistakes. Their deceptive business model is causing financial harm to consumers, and they need to be held accountable.

I urge the ScamPulse.com to investigate Reservation Desk and warn other consumers before they fall victim to these fraudulent practices.

I called this place but i was under the impression it was the hotel. I was originally looking to booking a reservation on booking.com. Somehow i unknowingly contacted them. They knew which hotel i was calling about and said it was full but they had thier sister hotel we could book at so i did that. They confirm the total was $425. I booked around 7pm for the next night. We have just gotten into AZ when i booked it. It was late and the kids were hungry. So we went to eat and got to our first hotel and went to sleep. It wasn’t until the next night that i checked the confirmation and realized they charged me 195 for tax and fees plus 17.99 for their booking services. I was never provided the quote when i asked for the room total and provided my credit card information. The $425 matched what i was seeing online so i agreed. I filled a complaint and they said they reviewed the recording and i was correctly quoted. I asked for the recording because i know i would not have booked through them. They have not provided it or responded to me. I have searched online about this company with many similar complaints.

I was misled in a Google search and ended up calling ReservationDesk.com, thinking I was calling the hotel I searched for instead. The man who helped me pressured me to book a hotel immediately and assured me all charges and all fees were refundable but when I received the confirmation email (with incorrect number of guests and beds), it specifies that the fee I specifically asked about was in fact NON-REFUNDABLE. I attempted to call them back numerous times and nobody would answer the call. Once, I waited on hold for an hour! I was finally able to reach someone several days later and disputed the charge with the man answering the call. I was told it would be escalated after they listened to my previous recording. The man refused to send me an email as a confirmation for me but said I would receive an email from his superiors with their decision in 7-10 days. I notified my credit card company and finally got a refund but never any promised email.

Called to make a reservation. The agent booked the wrong hotel. When I noticed the mistake from the reservation confirmation I called back. I was told I would be refunded the $713.98 for the change and the $14.99 booking fee since it was their mistake. I was also told I would receive it in 24-48 hours. That was 8/13/2014. I called back on 8/18/2024 and have been on the phone for hours. They are now saying they will review it and it could take 5-7 days before they determine whether or not they will refund me. This is a scam. I spoke with several agents/supervisors. They provided a fraud line which I called. It was not a fraud line but just another “customer service” line. I was told by this agent (Adinel) he would call and the wrongly booked hotel and see if they would refund the charges and that he would call me back. I did receive a bogus call back but there was no one the line. I continued the call until it was finally disconnected.

The company intercepts internet hotel search inquiries online, and directs customers to a phone number that is not the hotels own reservation number, but instead, a third party travel company calling itself "reservation desk", deceiving the customer into believing that they are dealing with a hotel directly. The scammers do not disclose the details of the transaction on the phone, but instead give a high total number that includes all taxes and fees. A $15.99 booking fee is charged, but the scam is in the hotel taxes that they charge, I believe in violation of state tax law. We were charged $30.10 hospitality tax on a $74.10 hotel room, a 40+% tax rate. Buried in the disclosure is an additional $18.46 fee that is initially invoiced and presented as a tax. A business can not invoice a customer for taxes, not forward that exact amount to the state, and instead keep the collected extra "taxes" as additional profit for the company. Totally fraudulent and unethical.

Two problems: They pretended to B the hotel itself.. And did not identify themselves until after I gave them my credit card... And they promised me a handicap room... And when I got to the hotel there was none reserved... It ruined our vacation as my partner could not take a shower

This site pretended to be Holiday Inn. Made a reservation at the wrong hotel from what I typed in and won't even consider a refund. Charges exhorborent fees buried under "Taxes." When we complained, they lied and said Holiday Inn told them they won't refund the money so the service was unable to refund the money. We called and spoke to the same person they spoke with who denied even saying anything beyond, "Yes we can cancel that. " We even have written confirmation from the Holiday Inn to that same effect. This is site is a scam and unreliable.
