Piano Scam now from Betty Donald
"I have a Steinway piano to give away. I can send you the pictures if you're interested. Thanks"
Now interestingly enough - a year ago I was looking at used/free pianos on Facebook, so this seemed like someone from an old email, thus I responded and got this.
"The Steinway Piano (model B7) used to be owned and played by my husband who passed away last year. It was last tuned sometime around December last year before he passed. I'm moving my properties to California and I don't think my husband will be happy if I sell this piano, at the same time, I am settling for an apartment with less space, so I'm hoping to give it out to someone who is a passionate lover of the instrument.
The Piano is currently in storage in Missouri with the movers I employed to move my properties from my house. In attachment are the pictures of the Piano. Do let me know if you are interested.
Greetings,
Betty"
I just google image searched the two photos attached and immediately landed here -
Lisa Raymond and Reserved Movers (Grand Piano Scam---Beware!)
"Lisa" then said to simply pay for the moving expense of the Piano and provided a reference code and email address for Reserved Movers. As the scam goes, Reserved Movers (no online reviews) sends a reasonable shipping quote and asks that the shipping cost be paid for in advance via funds transfer.
At this point, we thankfully googled and found this page.

The Music staff researched some more into the company and discovered another company was scammed with very similar information (a loved relative passing leaving their piano to be donated and delivered through a moving company in Oklahoma).
Piano donor scam
The biggest red flag is that the moving company sent me a static invoice, but wanted us to use Zelle or PayPal to pay. They didn't even create an invoice through PayPal! Further, they asked that we use [email protected] when sending the money. Emails to watch out for: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected].
www.88keysusa.com they reached out to us through our website and caught on ain't right away. We are launching in Los Angeles area but seeking to help whom ever we can.
