Data Entry Job Scam

I was approached by this lady named Katie Williams who claimed to be an HR Assistant from Revere Pharmaceutical. She had a data entry clerk position and asked me if I wanted to apply for it, which I accepted. I went through an online assessment. Within hours she offered me the job, sent me an offer letter signed by the CEO of the company. I checked on Google and LinkedIn, the company and the CEO are legit. The letter was formal, had the company logo. Once I accepted, she created an access to the “company” platform where I was going to have access to some company’s information. Even the platform looks legit, even though it is very simple in terms of content. Then she send me this check to cover expenses for equipment purchase. The instructions were to make the deposit using the Internet Banking app and send her the confirmation. I never gave her any sensitive information like bank account or social security. She also established that our communication should happen through the Telegram app and that I was supposed to check in with her every morning once I started to work. After that, never got an answer or any message from her. I still don’t know what she’s getting out of it. The check bounced back, thankfully! I was afraid that I would have to deal with some refund of any sort or to be charged by the bank, but it didn’t happen. The picture below is from her Telegram account, which I’m not sure it belongs to her, but please be aware of this scammer! It’s bad enough that we are looking for a job and get scammed even when we don’t have anything to offer. I don’t have money so I hope she as frustrated as possible!
