Got a card I the mail saying I needed to call them to get reward of 500

- Beaverton, OR, USA • Dec 06, 2024

My health insurance gave me this phone number to call for mental health reasons to find a healthcare that takes my insurance

I called the phone number I shared here and I was directed to a Award Center saying that I may qualify for a $100 Walmart gift card. Then encouraged me to answer a few personal questions as my whole name, address, email, cell phone number and checking account information because there was a onetime charge that would be charged to my checking to get the $100 Walmart gift card.

I began feeling it was a scam when I checked my bank account to see if any money had been taken out from them and still there hasn't been any activity regarding them taking the money they requested. But they have my personal information.

So I had my friend call the same number, which the area code is an Oregon Area Code 503, to see if they would offer her a free $100 Walmart card in which they did. Then she asked them what the company, Reward Center, and the name of the person she was speaking with, which the woman responded as being Monica. Then asked Monica where they were located at and she responded Florida. Why was it an Oregon 503 area code when Monica stated they were located in Florida? Because it's a scam!

Then she asked Monica what her last name was and Monica immediately hung up on her.

My friend then called back three times and when Monica realized it was my friend calling, Monica hung up each time.

So yes, this is a scam and needs to be investigated right away. They're taking personal information from me and other people by scamming them into believing that they're getting a free $100 gift card when their actually after your personal info and bank account info.

A bate and switch scheme. Bait people thinking their getting a free gift card then telling the person they'll be charged a one time fee.

These people need to be taken down before they scam more people such as myself.

Sincerely, a person that's been scammed!

I called the phone number on the post card. I was told My address was randomly selected by zip code to win a $100 savings certificate which can be used at restaurants, stores, online, etc. All I had to do was furnish a Credit card, debit card, or checking acct. number to cover the $1.98 processing fee. That’s when I said no thank you and hung up.

My mom dialed the number on the back of her citi bank card and messed up one of the digits and got this reward center. They claimed they had a $100 gift card because the system happened to be down all we had to do was pay for shipping. They will tell you the call is being recorded and give you their name and client ID number. All a lie.
