I advertize the sale of some pottery on Craig's List, RI, and received a text message right away saying they wanted to purchase the pottery. They sent me a check for the pottery plus shipping costs which I deposited. Then they wanted me to immediately to hold out 1600 for the shipper by paying them through ZellePay.com online. I checked the references for ZellePay and saw terrible reviews, so said I would only send a bank check. Lots of back and forth, their wanting it down right away. I refused and realized this was a scam. But, I went to my bank to see if the money had cleared and discovered the check had bounced and been returned, charging me $15 for the returned check! I guess I'm still lucky. I have a copy of their check and two different addresses - one on the check and a different one on the Fed Ex envelope sent with their check.
