I was approached by Richard Delpech after applying for a virtual assistant position on ZipRecruiter. He then proceeded to initiate a lengthy interview process that took place over Miscrosoft Teams where he explained the position, asked me standard interview questions about my skill set and why I was interested in joining Saur, and went over Saur-specific company policy. I was then offered the position and sent an employment agreement from the email included in my complaint. The email was signed by Xavier Savingy who is the current HR manager for the actual Saur Group. Richard even has an established Linkedin profile where he promotes Saur and describes in detail his work with them. The agreement I signed was also very thorough and professional. I was told that Saur would email me a check to cover all expenses related to purchasing the necessary software and equipment for the position. I became suspicious when I was told they had their own retailer that I needed to make the purchases through. I was also told that I could not proceed with meeting the training supervisor until after I had deposited the check and purchased the equipment. The check itself was issued by Aspen and not Saur and was made out for $950. Richard Delpech stopped communicating when I asked more questions about the check and how I could guarantee it would not bounce. I am assuming they are running a scam where they have people deposit the check, purchase fake items through a website, and then the check bounces costing the victim money from their personal funds. This was a highly organized scam with documents tailored perfectly to match Saur Group logos, official website policies, and listed current Saur employees. I was never asked for my personal bank information which made this even more convincing. They also reassured me that I would not be held liable for any of the expenses of purchasing the equipment if I decided to end my employment after the training period. I have included the check below and I can also provide the employee agreement if needed.

Honestly, nothing as in depth as you, but I was contacted by them in a similar manner; approached in a Microsoft Teams message, one of the employees was playing off of guilt and pressuring me to answer without thinking, far more unprofessional than expected and weird methods of getting the proper things for me to start (ended up ghosting the employer. Something like "yeah you can print out a check and redeem it"... why not just make me an account with all the things needed, right?)
