Scammer raised concerns about our business name claiming that "an applicant has initiated the process for trademark registration for the same name". Time was of the essence to protect our intellectual property rights and we should contact him to have them intervene quickly otherwise it could lead to potential litigation costs ranging from $120K to $750K. Call to discuss.

First email received was called 'initial notice' and second email received within 24 hours was called 'final notice'.

We did not respond to either, but reported it to the Canadian intellectual Property Office, the BBB, the RCMP and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. We also advised our legal counsel and other co-workers.
