Type of a scam Employment
Then when they sent the new hire paper work next day I started to feel a little uneasy about it going through a foreign company that was supposedly “setting up an office in Midland TX” but before I filled out paperwork and sent over I really dug into the offer.
I couldn’t find that company anywhere in the US. The people who were in contact do appear to truly work for Viridor in the UK but I doubt the head of safety is also the hiring manager and HR department.
I told the supposed Richard that I felt uneasy about sending over information without speaking to someone directly or face to face.
He said I could wait until my direct supervisor gets in touch with me.
The flags are being thrown all around me. I could see how someone can get scammed, it looks so legitimate. The new hire paperwork is signed by the CEO and the job lined out seemed very specific. It wasn’t a super high paying job, but nonetheless I was suppose to receive a check on 12/23 to deposit and buy computer and software from there selected vendors.
I questioned him about it being a scam and they claimed they could not send me an I9 without government approval. This is false, if you wanted to print an I9 right now you can Google it and print it.
Do not send over information! This is a scam. I looked all over the internet for a scam with this name and I haven’t seen one but this is definitely not a legitimate company in the US.
