We were searching the internet for dachshund puppies. Located an add on Craigs List for the Houston, TX area. The listing appeared to have 2 different names; Rickeys Mini Dachsunds and Raheem Minni Puppies. After requesting information we were sent pictures of 2 different puppies. Made a request by email for cost of the puppy; $300. Noticed a 614 area code from their phone number, central Ohio and asked why there were running ad for Houston TX. Reply was they relocated to Bakersfield, California and can send the puppies by courier service. Inquired again about the courier service charge; $120. The total amount was agreeable but seemed low. They mentioned they needed room for upcoming litters. They asked for the entire amount upfront which we refused to pay. Offer to pay half the total, $210 and the remainder after delivery. They accepted and wanted the funds payed by Zelle. We were sent the information for the payment as follows: Name: Bilo jelly, [email protected]. We proceeded to the transaction but the transaction didn't go through because of an account issue on their end. They requested I cancel this payment and sent information on another Zelle account. Proceeded with payment with new information and it went through. Once they recieved payment they went silent for a day. Then at 9:00 P.M. that same day we recieved a text and email from Delta Freight Courier Service that the shipment of the puppy had been held up because an insurance deposit that need to be made of $970 and that this amount was refundable at delivery of the puppy. I replied that we would make no insurance payments and haven't heard anything since.
