I was looking for a dachshund puppy for my son as a birthday gift. I found one from riodachshundpuppies.com signed the contract and I purchased the puppy 9/15/21 from at the price of 700.00 dollars via zelle. They only accepted zelle or venmo payments. Once i sent them the money I received and email with the shipping information. The email stated that I had to pay 1830.00 for a covid crate. I contacted the "breeder" and I stated that I should have been made aware of this crate before I purchased the dog. I told them I did not have that kind of money at the time. The said that since the 1800 dollars was refundable when the dog was delivered they would share the cost with me. I sent them another 750.00 via zelle to pay for shipping cost and they were going to cover the 1080.00 dollars and once the dog was delivered that amount would be given back to them along with my 750.00 dollars. Then i received an email stating that his wife has been in a horrible accident and I would have to pay the full 1830.00 for the crate. This was absolutely a fraud! As I used zelle it is expected that I am not going to be able to recover the 1450.00 the scammers took from me. I can only pray these people are caught and prosecuted for fraud! I have corresponding text message and emails I can provide. I have 2 pages to the contract however, it would only let me upload 1 image.
