However, after looking more deeply I found that he is the only registered employee and the company was registered only 9 months ago. He was also arrested in CA for solicitation without a permit. There is no other online presence besides this registration, and no contact info or anything. This corporation is late filing its status with the state as well.

I don't expect to get my money back, but I hope no one else falls for it, I am sending a letter to the company asking for a refund. I purchased one subscription with a check for $60 which I knew was overpriced but figured it was for a good cause. Once he left and I looked at the receipt there is no email or phone number rather just a P.O. Box.
He is very nice and definitely has done this many times he knows exactly what “buttons to press” to elicit sympathy. At one point he said he heard children’s music in the house. (We were outside the front door.) There are no children in our household so he was working off of a script.
He also came by on a Sunday and was making calls at dusk. Rather sketchy. I fell for it and hope that others do not.
