I was contacted by an "Allie" from Rising Events, Inc on LinkedIn. They wanted to set up an interview. I had never contacted them, but I figured they had reached out to me because they saw my resume posted. I thought the job looked suspicious, but I am in desperate need of a employment. The first interview was with a person that claimed that there were upwards of 500 applicants, yet I never even saw a job posting online anywhere. She was by far the fastest talker I have ever encountered in my life. It appeared to be a multi-person Zoom session. She sped-talked her way through the two positions open in 5 minutes and then said she was putting a link in the chat that needed to be completed to determine if the team would bring you in for a second-round interview the next morning. Again, very suspect, but desperate job searcher here. I soon received a text asking for an 8 am interview the next day. It was supposed to be a one-on-one. At first there were four other individuals in the Zoom interview (yes, Zoom again). It was disorganized and felt off. The "owner," Tionna ended up interviewing me. After just a few minutes and a few questions, she said she liked me and wanted to know if I could do a third-round phone interview on the very same day. At this point, I still did not really want to believe that this was a scam. I have a small child and I need employment. I knew I had to face the reality of the situation though.

I began putting the pieces together. First of all, they claimed to have started in Reno and expanded to like the West Coast and then to Raleigh, but there is no trace of them anywhere and they are registered nowhere. Their website is so unprofessional for the "major" marketing firm they claim to be working their Fortune 500 companies. Good luck finding any of these companies listed on their website though. The description they have of the work they do is so filled with fancy jargon that they look like a joke. The HR person "Allie" who contacted me has no last name anywhere to be seen in her email or in her signature. The only people with LinkedIn profiles are recruiters with experience in fast food or palette lifting (nothing wrong with these careers! It just doesn't align with the background they are claiming) up until around 2022-23. They absolutely have no social media presence. They spoke nothing about their "experiential marketing" campaigns. No marketing portfolios. These people of predators. They are trying to take advantage of vulnerable people who are trying the best they can. Please be careful and report your circumstances if you run into these individuals or others like. There is a special place in hell these people. Please do not let them prey on people who may end up falling for their scam.
