I completed the application and was pre approved for the $100 pay in four. I then received an email that had an access link to my account and from there I was directed to add my debit card to facilitate payments. Once my card was added,and my 21$ payment made, I received on screen notification that it could take 24 hours to recieve the details of my "e- visa" with 100$ balance.
After 24 hours, I received no follow up emails and I noted that the website lacked a phone number and any contact emails.
When I used the "my account" link from the original email, there was now a red message at the top of the page stating that due to staffing shortages they would require additional processing time, up to 48 hours.
After 48 hours more and no form of contact available for concerns or complaints, I contacted my card issuer (paypal) to report a problem with the transaction. I was unaware paypal would send my complaint to the merchant. I reported the above information and stated that I believed RMG PAY to be a scam. Through paypal I received angry response from RMG PAY that the transaction was not a scam, and that not only would I not receive a refund but that I would now be billed an additional 200$ for an "investigation fee", the merchant states that I had agreed to such in terms and conditions (despite my protest that I hadn't asked them to investigate) the link to "my account" was promptly disabled and receives a "No such user" message when I attempt to access. Several times the merchant stated that they would report the balance to credit agencies.
Days later I began receiving messages asking me to rate RMG PAY, then I received emails identical to the original that contained "my account" link and asked me to add my debit card as if I had not set up my account previously. Being wary of the company, I did not attempt to access the link.
Now, I have received emails stating that my balance is over $1,700 and would be reported to credit reporting agencies.
I paid 21$, to receive a "pay in four" loan, did not receive the loan and have lost access to my account/invoices, have been charged 200$ for reporting the transaction to my card issuer, and now several thousand more for unknown reasons and without a detailed invoice.
