The scammer identified self as working for the county. When asked about an estimate, said he would measure after he laid the asphalt because he didn’t think he had enough, that he would just go as far as the “extra” he had left over from a county job. We told him just to do a narrow path next to the existing driveway. He was told exactly where to stop- when we checked again, he was laying asphalt on the existing driveway- and was almost finished. I told him that is not what we agreed on. What we thought would be about $300 to $400 job, was over $5000. Unfortunately, my elderly dad paid them. We did call the police.
