Trying to pay bills on Wells Fargo bill pay when an orange pop up box came up warning consumer that there was a security breach in her computer. Requested that she call and pay $487 to fix computer. It seemed originally to be fixed, then consumer found out from GeekSquad that this was a scam.
Called business to attempt to get a refund. Business asked for consumer banking information to issue a fraudulent refund. Proceeded over a three week period to manipulate all of consumers accounts and took $24000. Also did a cash advance for over $6000 on consumer's card, which she was able to get back.
Was never able to recover the other funds.
