Advertised on nextdoor.com under Rosado Remodeling and Repairs. Asked if he replaced broken tiles and that I had 5 tiles that needed replacement. I asked his experience with this type of work he assured me he had done this type of work 100's of time. The first day (Saturday) he removed the broken tiles and installed new tile incorrectly. I called to notify him he returned the same day (Saturday) and once again removed tile and reinstalled. What appeared installed was not installed correctly but he reassured me with that once the thin set/mortar was set all would look fine. Initially I had given him a check for $235.00, but he told me he could not cash the check that he did not have a bank account. I questioned why not since he was in business? He told me his bank account was locked into a project in Florida in the amount of $17,000 and could not be activated and that he needed a cash payment. He returned the check to me and once again asked for cash. He badger me several times with different sources that he had available that I could send the $235.00 to such as, cash app, etc. All the sources he had mentioned I did not have the apps for. He discovered that he had a PayPal app, so I sent the funds thru PayPal via e-check as a precaution, because tiles had not settle and were out of placement. His shoddy work shown clearly (Sunday) I could only stop payment on the e-check thru my bank on a Monday. My bank allow this e-check to go thru without going thru the federal clearing house so he was able to access the $235.00 very early Monday morning before 9AM. Back to Sunday, I text and sent pictures of the tile which the patterns was still placed incorrectly and the tile was still in a raised position. He agreed to come fix tile again. When discussing a time to come fix the tiles he informed me that he got out of work at 6PM the upcoming week, and that he could get out of work on Wednesday early. We agreed to a time of 4:30 PM on Wednesday. Wednesday morning he text me to state that we had to reschedule because he had to take care of some stuff out of town and that he was available the weekend. During the time period of Saturday -Sunday my sink dishwasher garbage disposal had stopped working and this was due to him disposing the thinset/motar down the drain (which someone who has done this type of work 100's time should have known better), but when I also informed him of this situation he stated "I have always been able to use the customer sink or hose and never had this issue." I asked him to refund the $235.00 so that I can have someone come and fix the tiles. I also informed him that I have to pay a plumber to repair and replace kitchen sink pipes that are clogged with thin set/motar. I also sent him a picture of the thin set/motar I was able to retrieve out of the sink garbage disposal by hand. He stated, " I'm sorry you feel this way. And for the inconvenience. I have always been able to use the customer sink or hose and never had this issue. Once that money is received you'll get it back. I have no problem with that. Have a good day." I responded, "The bottom line is that I need you to refund 235.00 you RECEIVED from me for the shoddy incomplete tile work. That I will have to repaired by someone else."
