I’m a disabled person that’s currently fighting cancer. I’m down here in Az doing treatments I rented from this individual she seemed very nice at first but after she got her hand on my deposit and first month rent after meeting twice things went down hill. Time of move in she had a bunch of demands not discussed when we first met said I had to sign this lease she wrote in Spanish or I would have to leave and be homeless. This was after she had my friend move my items in the room already. She also speaks English but refused when ever she had a complaint to make I even went as far to download the Spanish app to accommodate her because I do not speak Spanish. The prices changed from 540 to 600 specifically for me you guys can guess why. My food was stolen, she cut the ac of saying it would be an extra fee even thou she advertised it would be included then she also wanted to charge me a water bill of 80 bucks saying me living there is costing her 140 a month. I asked for proof she got agitated called me names and would not explain the bill just demanded I pay. She was hell if you decided to rent from her good luck to you I have a bunch of evidence to back up my claim of what I’m saying. Thankfully she gave me my deposit after I had to threaten to sue her but she deducted 17 because the money order I gave her she said it’s my job to pay what ever fee she incurred by depositing to her bank. I moved out early because she prevented me from going to my room by blocking my walker during an attempt to do mediation with her daughter she said I would have to say please this is after I had already said excuse me. She put items up to block my walker from accessing the fridge it was a wooden board, noise levels was horrible her daughter was there almost everyday with a crying baby then a dog that would scratch the door I tried to return the key early on 24th after I did my clean up because I was no longer staying there for my safety she said via text that she would not answer the door or allow me the courtesy of doing a walk through after I cleaned up. Because she would rather deal with my friend I even asked if I daughter would be there as witness but she refused to open the door to take her key. I had pay extra to have my friend drive there the next day to give her the key should could have taken the night before. 2 months of pure hell please beware I’ve already reported her to marketplace they have yet to take down the listing and I’m afraid for anyone that might get taken advantage of. I’m still traumatized by what happened during my stay. I had a friend translate the lease after I left because I was thinking of doing a civil suit if I didn’t receive half of my deposit I am told it said if I got sick as a result of my cancer and needed to go in hospital then I was to vacate the room.
